The Federal Interior Ministry approved a request from the administration of four provinces, including Islamabad and Gilgit Baltistan, to ensure the implementation of measures regarding the Korna virus.

According to a notification issued by the Interior Ministry, the Pakistan Army will be deployed to assist the civil administration for which the civil administration has requested.

The notice specifies that the Pakistan Army has been summoned under Article 245 of the Constitution.

The notice stated that 'after consultation and review with relevant authorities, details of requirements will be made'.

The Federal Ministry of Interior was told that 'this is why a request has been made to approve an army to help civilian powers in Sindh Province'.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Imran Khan rejected the lockdown decision in his address to the nation, saying that I can do that but our problem is that 25% of Pakistanis are living below the poverty line and they have so many resources. They won't be able to stomach their wives for two weeks.

'We do not have the capacity to deliver food to people at home,' he said.

Later, the Sindh Chief Minister announced a lockdown for 15 days, which has been implemented today (March 23) and security forces across the province have been following government orders.

The government of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan also decided to lock down and requested the federal government to send troops to ensure its implementation.

The Punjab Government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to partially lockdown.
